About Me

My name is Mukund Krishna Cherukuri, I was born and raised in India. I moved to the UK in 2007. I live with my wife, children and our two dogs in the picturesque village of Walton-on-the-Hill, Surrey. Since relocating to the UK, I’ve been on a cultural journey to adapt to a new way of living in the UK. The customs and practices differ vastly between the two countries, including the views around life’s purpose, its meaning, how we define our identity, relationship with the environment, how we speak to people, emphasis on the words we use, tone we adopt, logical thinking and much more. It has been an enriching experience that has helped me find the right balance in how I relate to and respond to the cultural change, without preferring one culture over the other. I have great empathy towards those who find themselves on a similar cultural journey to my own and would encourage people to have the courage of their own convictions.

Having graduated in Social and Legal Sciences, followed by MBA in 2003, I have over 18 years experience working across public safety, insurance, financial services and energy sectors. Throughout this time, I have held several leadership positions leading design and implementation of initiatives that have impacted people’s wellbeing, morale and motivation in positive ways.

Throughout the course of my work experience, I have been fortunate to be able to help people with trauma, depression, anger, anxiety, personality disorder, stress, self-esteem, confidence, relationships, addiction, phobias, bereavement and PTSD related issues. This experience has strengthened my growing desire to leave a positive impact on people at a personal level. This led me to undertake a year’s foundation programme in Psychotherapy and Counselling in 2010. Through the foundation programme I started to explore various therapeutic approaches [such as psychoanalysis, humanistic and existential] and gained practical counselling skills and techniques that have since become the basis of how I practice today. I am now pursing a masters degree.

During therapy/ counselling sessions I adopt an integrative approach in which I use a variety of techniques from different schools of thought. I work with individuals on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, to help build a greater self-awareness and understanding of relationships with others. I offer a therapeutic relationship in which I listen, support and challenge to enable people to find their own way to recovery, to enhance their life and to live it fully.

I provide psychotherapy and counselling that is designed to meet individual needs, in a safe and secure environment. I provide face-to-face, online, mobile/telephone, walk-and-talk therapy and counselling sessions.
